About Michael Gspurning
Born on May 2, 1981, in Graz, Austria, Michael Gspurning's football journey began with ASK Voitsberg in the Austrian Regionalliga Mitte. At 17, he became a regular starter, showcasing his talent early on. In 2000, he transitioned to Austria Wien, and from 2001 to 2004, he played for DSV Leoben in the Erste Liga. His career further expanded internationally when he joined the Seattle Sounders FC in 2012, bringing his expertise to Major League Soccer, later to the Bundeséiga side Schalke 04. After retiring as a player, Gspurning shifted to coaching and currently serves as the goalkeeping coach for Union Berlin and the Austrian national team.
